Fitness icon Jack LaLanne Dies at 96; his son Jon LaLanne Taking Over the Family Business

Fitness icon Jack LaLanne, who strongly advocates and motivates people to follow a healthy lifestyle, died of respiratory failure due to pneumonia at his home in Morro Bay, California on Sunday afternoon (January 23). He was 96.


Elaine (Jack's wife for 51 years) said that he is more than just a husband.
"I have not only lost my husband and a great American icon, but the best friend and most loving partner anyone could ever hope for."
Jack got three children, two sons, Dan and Jon, and a daughter, Yvonne.

Jack LaLanne's son Jon will continue the fitness legacy of her father and he will take over the family business and become the new spokesperson for his father's company.
Jon LaLanne told TMZ, "Though we are saddened by our father's passing, the overwhelming response from fans and the media has made us all feel he is still with us."
Jon added, "I plan to carry on the family business. I will be alongside my mother Elaine, my wife Lora, my brother Dan and my sister Yvonne touring the country preaching my father's common sense approach to a longer and better life."
Jon LaLanne also has his own surf board company named “LaLa”.

Singer Teena Marie Dies. She was 54.

Grammy nominated R&B singer Teena Marie, known for her hit songs "Lovergirl" and "I'm a Sucker for Your Love," was found dead in her Pasadena home on Sunday (Dec. 26). She was 54.
Her manager Mike Gardner confirmed to CNN the sad news and reportedly, she passed away in her sleep. Teena’s body was discovered by her teenage daughter.

While no cause of death has been released, the singer's publicist Lynn Jeter said that Marie suffered a grand mal seizure a month ago.

She was discovered by fellow music legend Rick James in the late ’70s. Teena Marie has released 13 albums. Her last studio album is "Congo Square".

One of her last tweet is her Christmas message:
"May Gods Light always shine on you and your family!" she wrote. "May you have the most joyous Holliday season ever! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year."

"Breakfast at Tiffany's" Director Blake Edwards Dies at 88

Film legend Blake Edwards passed away Wednesday night (December 15)  due to pneumonia complications at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica. His wife, actress Julie Andrews, and their children were at his side. He was 88.

Edwards is known for directing movies like "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "Pink Panther" film series and "Victor/Victoria".

He was presented with Academy Honorary Award during the 2004 Oscars.

Elizabeth Edwards Died Of Breast Cancer At 61

Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards’ wife, Elizabeth Edwards, who had recently decided to stop treatment, has passed away at her home in North Carolin on Tuesday (December 7) after her six-year battle against breast cancer. She was 61.

Elizabeth Edwards was first diagnosed with cancer in 2004, and learned that the cancer had returned in 2007.

John and Elizabeth tied the knot in 1977 and had three children, Cate, Emma Claire and Jack. Her eldest child, Wade, 16, was killed in a car accident (1996).

Aside from battling the big C, Elizabeth Edwards is also dealing with her husband’s infidelity with Rielle Hunter, with whom he had a love child.

Don Meredith Died Of Brain Hemorrhage; He was 72.

Don Meredith, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and original member of "Monday Night Football" broadcasters, has died after suffering a brain hemorrhage in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Sunday (November 5). He was 72 years-old.


"He was the best there was," Meredith's wife, Susan, told the Associated Press (via People). "We lost a good one."

Meredith played for the Cowboys from 1960-1968, becoming the starting quarterback in 1965. He joined Keith Jackson and Howard Cosell in the broadcast booth of the "Monday Night Football".

'Naked Gun' Actor Leslie Nielsen Died! He was 84.

Veteran actor Leslie Nielsen, best known for his comedic roles as detective Frank Drebin in the "Naked Gun" series, "Dracula: Dead and Loving It" and "Airplane", has died due to pneumonia complications at a hospital in Ft. Lauderdale (Sunday, November 28). He was 84 years-old.

His family issued a statement: "We are saddened by the passing of beloved actor Leslie Nielsen, probably best remembered as Lt. Frank Drebin in 'The Naked Gun' series of pictures, but who enjoyed a more than 60 year career in motion pictures and television."
My brother always deliver a smile and a laugh every time he will see Leslie Nielsen in a photo or in his movies.

Talent Manager Wyngard Tracy died

Talent manager Wyngard Tracy passed away Tuesday morning due to a  heart attack. Reportedly, he was being treated at the Makati Medical Center when  complications happened around 3:45 a.m,.

Wyngard's has a history of heart attack. Last July, he underwent a heart surgery and just recently (October 20) , he undergo removal procedure of a blood clot in his brain.

Tracy managed top stars like Richard Gomez, Lucy Torres, Maricel Soriano, John Estrada and Wendell Ramos.

Tracy is one of the contestants in the first season of Celebrity Duets. He is alsa one of the judges in ABS-CBN's "Search for the Star in a Million" in 2005 then became a judge of "Showtime" January of this year.

A text message from co-talent manager June Rufino said that a mass for Tracy will be held at La Salle Greenhills Chapel today.

Before his death, Tracy specifically requested that there be no wake for him. Instead, he wants his family and friends to have a party. The memorial mass for the talent manager will be at 5:00 p.m. today at La Salle Greenhills Chapel.The "party," as he wished, will be held on Thursday, November 18.

Producer Dino De Laurentiis died; He was 91

Film producer Dino De Laurentiis, who produced more than 500 movies in his film career has died at his home in Beverly Hills, California on Wednesday night (November 10). The Oscar-winning legend was 91 year-old.

Some of the movies under his credit are “Serpico”, “Barbarella”, "Army of Darkness", "Unforgettable", "Assassins ", "Dune", “King Kong”, “Hannibal” and many more... No specific details about the cause of death.

“The Sopranos” Denise Borino-Quinn has died, She was 46.

Actress Denise Borino-Quinn, who is known for John "Johnny Sack" Sacramoni’s wife in HBO’s mafia hit show “The Sopranos”, has died after battling liver cancer at the Morristown Memorial Hospital in New Jersey on Wednesday (October 27).

When Borino-Quinn attended the open casting call for the “The Sopranos”, she has no acting experience but still she bagged the role of Ginny Sacrimoni, mafia wife with a weight problem.

'An Officer and a Gentleman' Actress Lisa Blount Found Dead at 53; Suffering from a blood disorder

Actress Lisa Blount, who plays Lynette Pomeroy in the 1982 movie "An Officer and a Gentleman", was found dead in her Little Rock, Arkansas home on Wednesday (October 27). She was 53 years-old.

The Pulaski County Coroner's office told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that the actress likely died on Monday and no signs of foul play were suspected. Her husband, actor/director Ray McKinnon was reportedly out of town.

Her mother tells radaronline that Lisa is in pain for many years as she suffered from a blood disorder called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP).
“She was limited to what she could take because she had a rare blood disease…she wouldn’t take aspirin because it would bring the blood to the surface of the skin."
Blount received Academy Award recognition for Best Live Action Short Film as a producer for the 2001 movie 'The Accountant'. For the movie 'An Officer and a Gentleman', she was nominated for Golden Globe for best new star.

'Happy Days' Star Tom Bosley Passes Away, age 83

Actor Tom Bosley, popularly known for his role as Mr. Cunningham on “Happy Days”, died of natural causes after a brief battle against lung cancer at his home in Palm Springs, California. He was 83 years-old.

Tom also played key roles in “Murder, She Wrote” and “Father Dowling Mysteries” (1989 to 1991). Bosley had made his mark on Broadway in the title role in "Fiorello!, giving him a Tony Award!

"Leave It to Beaver" Actress Barbara Billingsley, Dies at 94

Actress Barbara Billingsley, best known for June Cleaver on "Leave It to Beaver" has died in her home in Santa Monica Saturday morning, October 16. She was 94 years-old and reportedly had been suffering from rheumatoid disease.

Actor Jerry Mathers, who played Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver, called Billingsley a lifetime mentor, "Barbara was a patient advisor and teacher. She helped me along this challenging journey through life by showing me the importance of manners, and respect for others," Mathers said in a statement. "She will be missed by all of her family, friends, fans and most especially by me."

Aside from her other TV and film credits, she has a hilarious memorable cameo in the classic 1980 comedy Airplane.

Actor Tony Curtis Died; He was 85. (Jamie Lee Curtis' father)

Legendary actor Tony Curtis (real name Bernard Schwartz), father of actress Jamie Lee Curtis, has died due to cardiac arrest at his home in Las Vegas (September 29). Tony had been suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which led to the heart attack. 

His daughter Jamie Lee Curtis issued a statement, "My father leaves behind a legacy of great performances in movies and in his paintings and assemblages. He leaves behind children and their families who loved him and respected him and a wife and in laws who were devoted to him. He also leaves behind fans all over the world. He will be greatly missed."
Tony appeared in such films as "Sweet Smell of Success" and "Some Like It Hot" with co-stars Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon. He earned an Oscar nod for 1958's The Defiant Ones.

Comedian Greg Giraldo Died after Accidental Overdose

Stand-up comedian Greg Giraldo passed away due to complications from the overdose at the hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey on Wednesday (September 29). He was 44 year-old.

Greg was rushed to the hospital few days ago after an accidental overdose of prescription pills. Greg did not try to commit suicide.

Giraldo served as a judge during season seven of the NBC reality competition show Last Comic Standing.

'Titanic' Gloria Stuart Dies at 100

Actress Gloria Stuart, popularly known for her role as an older version of Kate Winslet’s Rose in “Titanic”, has passed away Sunday, September 26. She died of lung cancer at the age of 100 years old.

Gloria was nominated at the 1998 Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress in James Cameron's epic movie "Titanic" but sadly, she lost to Kim Basinger (L.A. Confidential). She's the oldest actress ever to be nominated for an Oscar.

Gloria movie credits are “The Invisible Man“, “Gold Diggers of 1935“, “The Prisoner of Shark Island” and “Poor Little Rich Girl“.

Gloria Stuart published her autobiography, "I Just Kept Hoping", in 1999, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000.

'LFO' Rich Cronin died; He was 35 years-old.

Singer/songwriter Rich Cronin, member from the '90s boy band LFO, died after his five years battle with acute myelogenous leukemia. He was 35 years-old.

Lance Bass tweeted about his departure, “Sad sad day that Rich Cronin died- was a amazing guy. : (“

He set up a foundation to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The group's breakout hit Summer Girls was written by Cronin in 1999.

“Beetlejuice” Actor Glenn Shadix Died; Statement and funeral details

Actor Glenn Shadix,  known for his role as Otho the interior decorator in Tim Burton’s classic horror movie “Beetlejuice”, died after falling at his home in Alabama (September 7). He was 58 years-old.

According to Glenn’s sister Susan Gagne that he was already having “mobility problems” and she added, "It looks like he fell and hit his head in the kitchen, and that's the cause of death."

WWE's Luna Vachon dies

Former WWE star Luna Vachon (real name: Gertrude Vachon) was found dead by her mother in her Florida home on Friday morning, August 27. Luna was 48 years old.

Authorities is still investigating the cause of death and initial reports shows that no foul play was involved in this incident.

Luna was partnered with Bam Bam Bigelow in one of her career highlights. She wrestled from 1993 to 2000 in the WWE.
WWE's statement: "World Wrestling Entertainment has been made aware of the passing of Gertrude (Luna) Vachon. WWE extends its deepest condolences to the Vachon family.

Ms. Vachon was under contract with WWE at various times from 1993 through 2000, and performed under the name “Luna” Vachon. She last performed for WWE in early 2000."


Bb. Pilipinas International 2009 Melody Gersbach killed in a car accident!

Bb. Pilipinas International 2009 Melody Gersbach was killed after a fatal car accident at Bula Town, Camarines Sur on Saturday morning August 21, 2010.

Melody Gersbach with her three companions were on their way to Naga City for a local beauty pageant when their Toyota Innova collided head-on to a Guevarra passenger bus. Initial reports says the passenger bus overtook a motorcycle and failed to return to the right lane, causing the accident.

The driver of the bus identified as Wilson Pontillas has surrendered to the police.

The two other confirmed casualties were identified as Dodong Ramos (driver), and Alden Orense,. Fashion desginer Ronald Lita survived the accident and is currently in critical condition at the Bicol Medical Center.

Gerbach represented the Philippines in the 2009 Miss International pageant in China where she was among the semi-finalists.


Heidi Montag’s Plastic Surgeon In Fatal Car Accident

Dr. Frank Ryan, the celebrity plastic surgeon who has been criticized of performing Heidi Montag’s dangerous makeover died in a car crash Monday afternoon in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Dr. Frank Ryan’s jeep went over the side of Pacific Coast Highway yesterday at around 4:30 PM. The Jeep landed on rocks and lifeguards initially tried to help Ryan, to no avail. The 50-year-old was pronounced dead and his dog, who is with him was seriously injured.
Heidi Montag tweeted this message, “I am devastated to hear the news of Dr. Frank Ryan’s death. He was the most amazing person I have ever known. He was an angel and changed my life and the lives of everyone he met. He was the most brilliant talented surgeon who will ever exist. Dr. Frank Ryan changed the world. My thoughts and prayers go out to his mother, family, friends, and anyone who was ever blessed enough to meet him. He is in a better place.”
Ryan made headlines after giving Heidi Montag's the insanely 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day.


According to the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office, autopsy shows that  Ryan died of "blunt force head injuries";

UPDATE: Sources connected with the treatment of the dog, the dog is stable and should recover from her eye and paw injuries. The dog was released today to a member of the staff at Dr. Ryan's ranch
