Star Magic confirms Kim Chiu was offered to do a movie with Jackie Chan

More blessings coming up for ABS-CBN primetime princess Kim Chiu as she is now set for an international project and an opportunity to work with Asian action superstar Jackie Chan.

Star Magic's public relation head Thess Gubi confirmed the acting gig with Jackie.

Gubi says, "Nakita yata ang picture niya, either pinresent ang picture niya or siya mismo ang nakakita ng picture ni Chiu."

The young actress was already scheduled to fly to an undisclosed location to shoot the film, but it was postponed.

Pinoy fans are surely excited about this great news and hoping the project will push through.

Chiu a last movie project was "Till My Heartaches End"  with long time on-screen partner of Gerald Anderson .

Karate Kid Kicked the A-Team in Weekend Box office

DreamWorks Animation's "Shrek Forever After" finally was bumped to the third spot by two remake movies after maintaining the top spot in three consecutive weekends.

Jaden Smith's "The Karate Kid" delivered some Kung fu moves beating the macho cast of "The A-Team".

The combination of Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan generated $56 million at the box office which exceeded the studio's expectations ($40 million dollar budget).

The A-Team led by Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Rampage Jackson, Sharlto Copley and Jessica Biel delivered $26,000,000.

"The Karate Kid!" 2010 remake - First trailer

Check out the trailer for Will Smith-produced "The Karate Kid!" remake, starring his son Jaden Smith and action superstar Jackie Chan.

Jackie Chan is playing the role of the wise Kung-fu teacher Mr. Han (his version of Mr. Miyagi) and he will mentored Jaden Smith (Dre Parker), the character who's being harassed by bullies and is in need of both philosophical-self defense teaching.

The original film's title went from "The Karate Kid", to "The Kung Fu Kid" and back to "The Karate Kid".

Directed by Harald Zwart and the film is to be released on June 11, 2010.

"Spying is easy, babysitting is hard."

Here's the latest poster for Jackie Chan’s upcoming action-comedy flick, "The Spy Next Door".
Former CIA spy Bob Ho (Chan) takes on his toughest assignment to date: looking after his girlfriend's three kids, who haven't exactly warmed to their mom's beau. And when one of the youngsters accidentally downloads a top-secret formula, Bob's longtime nemesis, a Russian terrorist, pays a visit to the family.
Other cast includes Magnus Scheving, Billy Ray Cyrus, George Lopez, Lucas Till, Amber Valletta, Madeline Carroll, Will Shadley and Alina Foley.

Ready to hit the theaters on January 15, 2010.

Jackie Chan is the mentor of Jaden Smith in "Karate Kid" remake

The deal is settled. Jackie Chan will set to play the wise Kung-fu mentor (Mr. Miyagi) in the upcoming remake of "The Karate Kid" which is now entitled, "Kung Fu Kid".
According to Variety, "Jackie Chan will play the wise kung-fu master in a Hollywood-Chinese remake of the 1984 hit "The Karate Kid" that kicked off filming in the Chinese capital at the weekend, a movie company publicist said Monday."

"Kung Fu Kid" is being directed by Harald Zwart, who also directed "One Night at McCool's" and "The Pink Panther 2."
Jackie will mentored Will Smith's son Jaden Smith, the character who's being harassed by bullies and is in need of both philosophical-self defense teaching.

The role of Mr. Miyagi (who can catch fly using a chopstick) is originally played by the late Pat Morita.

Jackie Chan on his 100th film project - star and co-direct "Chinese Zodiac"

In spite of his controversial "freedom" comment controversy, action legend-superstar Jackie Chan still raking in achievements on his big screen career. Jackie is eying his 100th film project entitled, "Chinese Zodiac".
According to THR, "The Hong Kong-based action hero will star in and co-direct "Chinese Zodiac," an action caper with a budget set at 250 million yuan ($37 million). Chan will co-direct with five-time collaborator Stanley Tong.

Produced by Emperor Motion Pictures subsidiary Emperor Dragon Movies, "Zodiac" will see Chan on a series of treasure hunts across the globe that are intricately linked with one of the major events in Chinese history."
You will see hard work, creativity and great stuff in almost all Jackie Chan films. Any Jakie movie is 100% OK to me and it will be a sure hit.



Jackie Chan, the next Mr. Miyagi?

There's a big possibility that action superstar Jackie Chan is the new mentor in the upcoming remake of The Karate Kid.
Reportedly, Jackie is in negotiations to take on the role of Mr. Miyagi which originally done by the late Pat Morita.

Jackie Chan's Album for the Beijing Olympics

Only two singers are authorized to released an album for Beijing Olympics. Action superstar/singer Jackie Chan and Tan Jing are given the go signal by Beijing Olympics organizing committee to released a Olympic album.

Sina.com.cn broadcasted the launch ceremony to Jackie Chan's "Official Album for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games". The album has 10 tracks that includes "We Are Ready" and "Welcome to Beijing."

Producer Yu Binghan, "The album is an extension of the official compilation," and "We chose Jackie because he is the best-known Chinese celebrity, and also because he has done a lot for the Olympics."

"Jackie Chan Museum" coming soon

All the hard works of action superstar Jackie Chan will be immortalized in a new museum that will retrace chan's legendary career.

Jackie Chan personally picked the location at the Changfeng Ecology Commercial District in Shanghai's Putuo District in which will be named after him.

According to Sina.com, "Visitors will be able to retrace Chan's footsteps from Hong Kong to Hollywood, and navigate through detailed showpieces of Chan from being a Chinese icon, a kung-fu megastar to a charity devotee".


Inside the 3,100 square meters museum are some of Chan's film awards, as well as costumes and props he has used in movies and in TV. They expected to complete the museum on October 1 next year.

Meanwhile, he recently signed a contract in Yunnan Province for a Jackie Chan Peace Garden, which he will cooperate with the local government to promote "Environment, Friendship, and Charity."

Jackie Chan's opinion on Asian celebrities nude photo scandal and snow calamity mission

Action superstar Jackie Chan is busy helping, donating goods and attends the "deliver warmth" activity for the snow disaster victims of Anhui province.

Aside from snow calamities, reporters is asking a different disaster. Some Asian celebrities are on the center of a controversial nude photo scandal.

Fifth Poster of "The Forbidden Kingdom"

The fifth promotional posters for the new film, "The Forbidden Kingdom," were released recently.

Starring two of the most famous Chinese kung fu masters, Jackie Chan and Jet Li, the movie has been the focus of public attention since shooting began.

This film is the first collaboration between kung fu stars Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

The action blockbuster is scheduled to premiere in North America on April 18.

Jackie Chan's video to promote AIDS awareness (video/English subtitles)

Action star Jackie Chan stars in a video that helps to promote AIDS awareness and the value of using condom.

Tag campaign titled as "Life is Too Good," was produced by Oscar winner Ruby Yang and Thomas Lennon.

The United Nations Development Fund, which is backing the campaign, said hundreds of millions of people will see the videos over the next year in airports, on buses and online.

A recent UNAIDS-Chinese government report found that HIV was being passed by sexual content from high-risk groups such as drug users into the general population. About 700,000 people are estimated to be living with HIV in China, with an estimated 50,000 new cases and 20,000 AIDS-related deaths this year.
