Anne Hathaway Invites PS22 Choir To Academy Awards (Video)

Anne Hathaway delivered a holiday surprise to remember to the children of the PS22 Chorus last Thursday (December 16) at their Annual Winter Concert in New York City.

Anne gave a big announcement by inviting the choir to perform at the Academy Awards ceremony. The kids goes wild hearing the exciting news.

The 28 year-old is hosting the Academy Awards in February 27 with James Franco.







Anne Hathaway: Oscars Is "Intimidating"

Anne Hathaway will be doing the Oscar duties for the 83rd annual Academy Awards with James Franco and Anne knows she's facing a big responsibility.  

Anne tells ET, "I found out that I'm one of three women to host since... I think it was 1987. Maybe I'm the fourth, I'm not sure. I'm still learning all the amazing statistics that I almost don't want to know because it gets a little bit too intimidating."
Definitely a challenge for Anne and a little bit of her charm will surely help do the job.

Hosting the Oscar magic for the 83rd annual Academy Awards are James Franco and the lovely Anne Hathaway.

The Academy made the official announcement via Twitter page:

The prestigious event will be held February 27, 2011 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin to host the Oscars

It seems they want to surpass the hosting success delivered by Neil Patrick Harris in the last primetime Emmys. The Oscars is getting two funny guys to host the next year's awards event.

Their tapping the services of Hollywood veterans Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin to co-host the 82nd Annual Academy Awards on March 7, 2010, at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre.

Sharing the hosting spotlight, Steve Martin said,"I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin

For Steve Martin, "I don't play the banjo but I'm thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it's the opportunity of a lifetime."

An Oscar veteran, Martin has hosted the show twice before, in 2001 and 2003, and has appeared as a presenter several times while 30 Rock actor is a first-timer as Oscar host.

Hugh Jackman: "The Musical is Back!" (81st Oscars video)


Hugh Jackman lead a a musical performance that celebrates the achievement of musical movies as he announced that "Musical is back!" during the 81st Academy Awards.

The Oscar host was joined by Beyonce, High School Musical stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens and Mamma Mia! screen partners Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper. They performed great musical hits like Sound of Music, Chicago, Dream Girls, Grease and Moulin Rouge.

With the Oscars event is fast approaching, John Mayer shared that he is very excited and it will be Oscar date with girlfriend Jennifer Aniston.

Meyer said via Popsugar, “It’s my first Oscars. And it’s my first being an Oscar boyfriend.”

He added that it all work after the Oscar event, “After that night, I have a deal almost signed in blood that says I must go into the studio and finish this record. So after Oscar Sunday, Monday morning, I’m invisible.”

Angelina Jolie thrilled over the Oscar nomination and working with Clint Eastwood

After her partner shared his reaction about the Oscar nod, Angelina Jolie who is nominated for Best Actress category for her movie Changeling.
"Working with Clint Eastwood was a reward in itself that will last me a lifetime," she says of the film's director. "It has been an exceptional year for acting, and I am honored to be in the company of these talented actors whose performances all deserve this recognition."
Another movie that she is included is the hit animated movie Kung Fu Panda, for best animated feature film.
"I am also happy that Kung Fu Panda was noticed by the Academy and proud to be a part of a film my entire family loves so much."

The nomination list of the 81st Annual Academy Awards were released. Brad Pitt's “The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button” topped the list with 13 nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.

The late Heath Ledger also got the nod for Best Supporting actor which he has a big chance to win after taking home the Golden Globe.

Oscars' Top 9 Best Foreign Language Film, "Ploning" failed to get the nod (2009)

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences releases their top nine films that has the chance to be included in the nomination list on January 22 and be proclaim Best Foreign Language Film on the Oscars awards night.

The top 9 out of 65 films around the world:

"Waltz With Bashir" (Israel) *Golden-Globe winner
"Revanche" (Austria)
"The Necessities of Life" (Canada)
"The Class" (France)
"The Baader Meinhof Complex" (Germany)
"Departures" (Japan)
"Tear This Heart Out" (Mexico)
"Everlasting Moments" (Sweden)
"3 Monkeys" (Turkey)

This short list will be narrowed down to five nominees by specially selected committees, both in Los Angeles and New York, who will spend this weekend screening three films per day.

Dante "Nico" Garcia's movie "Ploning" starring Judy Ann Santos from the Philippines failed to reached the cut.

The 81st annual Academy Awards will be on February 22, 2009 at Kodak Theatre, Los Angeles, CA.
