Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens Break Up!

Say goodbye to the young Hollywood couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens as they decided to split after dating for more than four years.

According to E! sources, "It's nothing dramatic," one source said. "There's no third party involved." Says another source, "They were together for so long. It just ran its course."

The two started dating when they were shooting the first installment of High School Musical back in 2006.

Hudgens told Glamour magazine earlier this year, "Right off the bat, we had a connection. I think everybody could see it. When we had our audition, they paired us together. And he was adorable."

Zac is now working on his new movie “The Lucky One” in New Orleans while Vanessa is busy with, “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” in Hawaii.

Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Dakota Fanning for Stand Up 2 Cancer PSA (Video)

Top Hollywood’s young stars joined together to deliver this new PSA campaign called “Change The Odds,” in support of Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), an initiative raising funds for cancer research.

Stars: Zac Efron, Dakota Fanning, Andrew Garfield (new Spider Man), Vanessa Hudgens, Logan Lerman, Kristen Bell, Jon Heder, Aubrey Plaza, Zachary Levi (Chuck), Sofia Vassilieva, Clark Duke, Olivia Munn, Naya Rivera, Donald Faison, Aaron Yoo and William Moseley.

The PSA was co-directed by Marc Webb and Rich Lee. The “Change the Odds” PSA will be featured on the upcoming SU2C broadcast event on September 10th.

Zac Efron will star in a sexy thriller movie

Making some big steps for his career, Zac Efron has upcoming movie project for Mandate Pictures which is described as “sexy thriller” film.

According to THR, "The new film will be written by Leslie Dixon, known for "The Thomas Crown Affair", "Freaky Friday" and "Hair Spray". The young stud will also serve as executive producer with Mandate's Nathan Kahane."

The "High School Musical" heartthrob is trying different boundaries to be included in the list of formidable actors.

She has also two projects: Beastly is a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast and Sucker Punch!, story of a girl who is sent to a mental institution by her wicked stepfather

For Zac, he will be presenting MTV's Generation Award to Ben Stiller at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards.

For two consecutive weeks, the weekend box office rankings are being ruled by Hollywood's top teens. Zac Efron shows that even without his famous wildcats friends he can unseat Disney Tween Miley Cyrus' “Hannah Montana The Movie”.

Efron's aging transformation comedy "17 Again" takes the top spot with $24 million beating the political thriller movie "State of Play" starring Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck which raked $14 million.

Nicole Richie jokes that Kate Winslet is busy that why she's in Zac's video spoof

Nicole Richie is jokingly shared via her blog the reason why she is in Zac Efron's new Funny or Die pool party spoof, the reason Kate Winslet is not available.

She wrote, "Hey guys, check out this Funny or Die video with Zac Efron. It’s hysterical! They were able to get some really great cameos… Vanessa Hudgens, Queen Latifah, and since Kate Winslet was busy, they called me ;)."

Zac Efron explains why he refuses to do Footloose remake

It seems being labeled as just a "cute song-and-dance man" makes Zac Efron decides to take some time-off in making musicals. The Disney star explained why he decided to pulled out in the upcoming remake of Footloose.

Zac said via US Weekly, "I was looking for a new challenge, and this was another musical". He added, "I want to grow a bit with the types of movies I want to make".

"I'm still figuring it out truthfully...I don't know. It's more about learning for me right now and trying as many things as possible."

Efron says "it's hard" to pick one person's career to emulate, but ideally he'd like to follow in the footsteps of "anyone who has tried new things and isn't afraid to take risks. People that work hard. Leo [DiCaprio], Johnny [Depp], Michael J. Fox."

Aside from his "17 Again" movie (April 17, 2009 release), Zac want to explore his talent like this project "The Death & Life of Charlie St. Cloud", in which he plays a cemetery caretaker-grave digger who has weekly meetings with his dead brother. He also falls in love with a young woman who may have died in a sailing accident.

"17 Again" is about a star athlete Mike O'Donnell (Matthew Perry) who decided to give it all up to settle down with his girlfriend Scarlett. His life become miserable and unhappy on his choices in life. He wishes that he could go back to highschool. One day he wakes up and he becomes a young Mike O'Donnell (Zac Efron), now he can correct all the mistakes he made which resulted in him becoming the unhappy businessman.

Meanwhile, Zac Efron has pulled out of the musical remake of Footloose. The original 1984 Footloose was done by Kevin Bacon.

According to the Wrap, "Zac Efron wants to be fancy free, but apparently not footloose. The teen-throb star of Disney’s first three “High School Musical” films, has pulled out of Paramount’s planned remake of “Footloose,” in an apparent effort to stretch his career beyond fame as just a cute song-and-dance man."

"Efron told the studio last week that he did not want to do another musical at this point in his career."

It seems Zac wants more serious role and maybe he is bored doing too much musicals.

Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens in Disney Fairy Tale land

On and off screen sweethearts Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens extend their romance in fairy tale land as they re-enact Prince Philip and Princess Aurora’s in Sleeping Beauty for the Disney ad campaign.

The shot was taken by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz which is titled, "Where Romance Is Celebrated". This is a part of Disney's "What Will You Celebrate?" ad campaign.

Disney’s D23 magazine interviewed the couple and here are some highlights:

D23: Did you ever think you would be portraying classic Disney characters from a classic Disney movie and a classic fairy tale?
Vanessa Hudgens: No, never, and it's such a beautiful thing you know. I think every girl wishes to be a princess, and I finally got to do it.
Zac Efron: I used to watch these movies all the time growing up, loving these films. So to play the prince…
VH: … and a handsome prince!

D23: So, is this your first experience working with Annie Leibovitz?
ZE/VH: Yes! (at the same time).

D23: But obviously you know her work and have seen a lot of her work.
VH: Yeah, she's such an incredible photographer. I really admire what she's done, and I was so excited to have the opportunity to work with her.
ZE: She's been taking gorgeous pictures for her entire life. I can't believe I got to meet her… I was a fan walking in. I'm downplaying it.

Knights versus the Wildcats in "High School Musical 4"

Hit movie franchise "High School Musical" will return on its fourth installment on Disney Channel original movie in 2010 with a new cast of characters.

The new movie involves love triangle set against the crosstown school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights.

Production is scheduled to begin later this year.

Maybe it will be a good idea if Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will make a cameo appearance in the new installment, like a visiting alumni.

Hugh Jackman lead a a musical performance that celebrates the achievement of musical movies as he announced that "Musical is back!" during the 81st Academy Awards.

Zac Efron is peeking on "Me and Orson Welles."

Zac Efron is carefully sneaking a peek behind a curtain in a upcoming period drama "Me and Orson Welles."

Based on Robert Kaplow's novel of the same name, the story is set in 1937 New York, tells of a teenager hired to star in Orson Welles' production of Julius Caesar, where he becomes attracted to a career-driven production assistant.

Included in the cast are Christian McKay, Claire Danes, Ben Chaplin, James Tupper, Eddie Marsan, Leo Bill, Kelly Reilly and Zoe Kazan.

Directed by Richard Linklater and will hit the theaters next year, 2009.
