Showtime's new Champion to be crowned on Saturday

The nation's best performers will battle it out  this Saturday, December 18, in the much-anticipated “Showtime Season 2 Grand Finals” on ABS-CBN.

Once again, viewers will be treated to world-class performances this time from monthly finalists “Big Trio,” “Kidz@Trix,” “89.9 Hoodz,” “Mama’s Boys,” “Lal-lo’s Blacklight Performers,” “Speed Movers Crew,” “Xtreme 24/7,” “Laoag City Gymnastics Group,” and “Zero Gravity,” the winner of this week’s Wild Card round.

Hosts Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Kuya Kim Atienza, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz and resident judge Vice Ganda share the excitement of the madlang people as the day of reckoning for the groups approaches.

“Magagaling ang lahat ng grupo kaya siguradong mainit ang magiging labanan,” said Navarro.

Vice Ganda, meanwhile, has a reminder for the grand finalists.

“Hinahamon natin ang mga grupo na pakitaan kaming mga hurado at ang madlang people ng bago. Ito na ang pagkakataon nilang magpasikat kaya ibigay na nila ang lahat,” he said.

Viewers are also looking forward to the return of Season 2’s guest judges including Ryan Bang, Jhong Hilario, Kaye Abad, and Karylle to help Vice Ganda with the grueling task of scoring the performances.

Early this year, dance group “XB Gensan” gave a rousing number that drove the audience to applause and tears on the way to winning the show’s P1-million prize.

Meanwhile, “Showtime” will also put a twist to Filipinos’ Christmas celebration with Christmas-themed episodes from Monday (Dec 20) to Saturday (Dec 25) featuring some of the biggest stars in the country.

RPG Metanoia is the stroy of Nico (voiced by Zaijan Jaranilla) , an eleven year old boy who lives a normal child's life. His world becomes different when he plays the MMORPG (Massively Multi-players Online Role Playing Game) called Metanoia.

He assumes the avatar "Zero", a vagabond armed with a magic yoyo. He has a set of friends who also plays Metanoia with him (Bobby, Daniel, Bryan, Mark and May). Conflict arises when a virus invades Metanoia and the gang was forced to defeat their nemesis Sargo.

Directed by Louie Suarez and it will hit the theaters on December 25.

"Showtime The Album" Early Christmas treat

ABS-CBN's hit talent variety show "Showtime" will celebrate its first year anniversary this Saturday October 23 and for its early Christmas treat, Star Records has released "Showtime The Album".

The album includes five catchy tracks from ABS-CBN’s hit noontime show, “Showtime”: “Showtime Theme Song” by the whole Showtime cast, “Magpasikat” by Teddy Corpuz, “Madlang People,” “Hari ng Dancefloor” by Vhong Navarro, and “We’ll Get There” by Anne Curtis.

Produced by DJ MOD, Showtime’s resident DJ and the one responsible for the show’s theme song, the album does not only cater to Showtime followers but also to everyone who knows how to have fun. Vhong Navarro is now legally Single; marriage annulled!

"Showtime" host Vhong Navarro is getting a lot of blessings on his career and now he can now move on and step another level to his personal life.

The “Showtime” host annulment to his former wife/actress Bianca Lapuz has been granted!

Navarro is reportedly happy with the court's decision and he will continue to be a good friend to Bianca and support raising their son.

Anne Curtis' "Showtime" tops Saturday Daytime programming; TNS Ratings (December 11-13 '09)

Vhong Navarro and Anne Curtis' "Showtime" shows that they can shake the ratings list and compete and with the two veteran variety shows like GMA's Eat Bulaga and Wowowee. "Showtime" captured the no.1 spot in Saturday daytime programming with 21.7% against fellow ABS-CBN show Wowowee with 21.5%.

Dolphy in ABS-CBN's May Bukas Pa

Philippines' comedy king Dolphy will try to teach you the meaning of life on his guest appearance on this week's episode on ABS-CBN's primetime drama series May Bukas Pa.

Dolphy will give life to the character of Pilo, who is the father of Moy (Vhong Navarro). Pilo wants a simple life while Moy is ambitious. Because of his age, Pilo agrees to live in the home for the aged while Moy decides to pursue his dreams. Marian Rivera's next movie projects with Dennis Trillo and Vhong Navarro

GMA's primetime queen Marian Rivera is currently busy on her next TV series entitled "Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang" with Dingdong Dantes (their third series as partner).

For her movie projects for 2009 in Regal Entertainment, the young actress will be partnered with two great actor. The first movie it with Dennis Trillo in the horror flick "Tarot".

Anther movie is on the works in which the title is still pending. Her rumored leading man is ABS-CBN's top comedian Vhong Navarro. (I hope nobody blocks it)

"My Only U" - P11 million opening day

The tandem of Vhong Navarro and Toni Gonzaga scores again a success by their new movie "My Only U" from Star Cinema. Reportedly, the new romantic comedy flick raked more than P11 million on opening day last October 29.

"My Only U" is graded "B" by Cinema and Evaluation Board and rated General Patronage by Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
