The film tells the saga of Rosario, a young and liberated Filipina in the 1920s who has just arrived from New York, and is spending her vacation in their hacienda.There, she meets and falls in love with Vicente, an older man who manages the tobacco plantation owned by Rosario's family. When Rosario's father finds out about his daughter's scandalous affair, he sends Rosario to a convent.She escapes, and elopes with Vicente to Manila where they raise a family. But Rosario's life of married bliss slowly crumbles when Vicente becomes ill with tuberculosis, and she is lured to committing adultery. The Solicitor General found Philip Salvador Guilty! (on estafa case)
It is starting a bad year opener for award-winning Filipino actor Philip Salvador. Two days ago, he is all over news about the assault charges by a bus driver during a traffic altercation in EDSA, now he has another problem involving former girlfriend Christina Decena.
Actually this problem is not new, the regional trial court guilty decision in 2006 about the estafa charges against Philip was reaffirmed by the Office of the Solicitor General.
The Solicitor Genera has agreed with Judge Elizabeth Guray verdict that indeed Philip committed estafa and sentenced him to up to 20 years in prison. The verdict also ordered Salvador to pay $100,000 or P5.1 million to Christina Decena.

Actor Philip Salvador assaulted a bus driver due traffic misunderstanding

34th MMFF Best Supporting Actor Philip Salvador was involved in a traffic altercation mishap yesterday morning that resulted to assault and mauling of a bus driver at EDSA in Mandaluyong.
According to the Bus driver (Michael Baino) and some witnesses, that even though there's no crash/damage to both of the vehicles, the veteran actor step out of his car and start cursing him and giving the bus driver some punches to his head and body.
The driver added that he repeatedly apologized to Salvador but the actor continued attacking and beating him up.
The driver was also disappointed on traffic enforcers, who allegedly upon Salvador’s instructions, issued him a traffic ticket for reckless driving.
The bus driver will be filing charges of unjust vexation and physical injuries against the actor.

The historical film "Baler" that Department of Education recommend bagged 10 awards in the 34th Metro Manila Film Festival (2008) awards night held at the Sofitel Hotel in Manila.
The period film "Baler" which also has a grade A rating from the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB) was chosen Best Picture and Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award with its educational value.
The beautiful Anne Curtis won her first acting award as Best Actress for her performance in Baler. Co-star Phillip Salvador was named Best Supporting Actor while their director, Mark Meily, won Best Director.
Another movie who has an "A" rating in CEB was recognized, One of the lead star of the film "Magkaibigan," Christopher De Leon took home Best Actor recognition.
