After her primetime series "Beauty Queen", actress Iza Calzado will be the new member of the “Dabarkads” that will delight your afternoon habits.

She is now looking forward in polishing her hosting skills as she will now co-host the long-running noontime show, “Eat Bulaga.”

Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and Iza Calzado's "Panday: Ang Simula" shoots next week

Actor-senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. proudly announced that his upcoming action-fantasy movie "Panday: Ang Simula" will now start rollin'.

Senator Bong is happy to announced in his recent interview with ABS-CBN news, that next week the shooting of this new movie will finally start with his newest leading lady Iza Calzado.

Iza Calzado will play the character of a noble stranger who will inspire Panday or Flavio, (Revilla), to learn how to fight.

It will be co-produce by GMA and Revilla's Imus productions. Other cast includes Rhian Ramos, Geoff Eigenmann and Philip Salvador.

This will be an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2009 in December.

The "Panday" series was originally done by the Fernando Poe Jr and Max Alvarado as his archenemy Lizardo, which is based on the fictional comics character of the same name created by Carlo J. Caparas in March of 1979.

Desperadas 2 - movie trailer (2008 Metro Manila Film Festival entry)

After the last year's success, Regal Entertainment decided to reunite the lovely half-sisters of the film Desperadas with a sequel. It also an entry for the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Desperadas 2 will showcase once again the colorful life of Isabela, Courtney, Stephanie and Patricia with a new added surprise. They will discovered their new and fifth long-lost sister, Ogie Alcasid that will add more fun and bigger treat to everyone who has followed the life story of the Desperadas sisters.

The film brings a deeper and closer peek into the different issues and personal struggles of the five sisters as they cope with life’s endless ups and downs.

Starring Ruffa Gutierrez (Isabella), Rufa Mae Quinto (Patricia), Iza Calzado (Stephanie) and Marian Rivera (Courtney). The sequel is directed by Joel Lamangan and penned by scriptwriter Roy Iglesias.

The Half-Sisters:
Ruffa Gutierrez as Isabella. She is a single mother who had financial problems in the past but doesn't admit it. Now, she is a successful entrepreneur of beauty products. Despite her thriving business, Isabella gets entangled in a big scandal that will change her life instantly.

Rufa Mae Quinto as Patricia. She was already annulled with Dave. Now, an easy-going woman who has a politician-boyfriend, Patricia feels she has no problems at all until a revelation of having a corrupt partner surprises her.

Iza Calzado as Stephanie. Stephanie now has a kid and experiences post-partum blues. In the midst of her marital woes, Stephanie turns to her sisters and seeks their help and advice.

Marian Rivera as Courtney. Courtney is now happily married with his basketball star husband, Patrick. She is an accomplished and chic fashion designer. Her husband left him because he feels that Courtney doesn't give her much time.

Ogie Alcasid as Lugaluda. Originally a male, Ogie plays a female character. She plays Lugaluda, the Kwelali Princess who happens to be the long-lost half-sister of the Isabella, Patricia, Stephanie and Courtney. Despite being physically-absent in the lives of her half-sisters, Luga Luda manages to develop a special bond and friendship with the four Desperadas.

"One True Love" red carpet premiere tonight, Nov 18

In the past few months, many are anticipating for the Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera and Iza Calzado movie "One True Love" and many are gearing to see the chemistry of the three successful young stars of GMA network.

Tonight November 18, is the red carpet premiere of "One True Love" at SM Megamall Cinemas 9 & 10 at 7 p.m.

Dingdong Dantes plays Migs, a young man who is in a long-term relationship with Iza Calzado's character named Bela. The relationship was put to the test when Bela and her family decided to go abroad, leaving the two lovers with no choice but to settle for a long distance affair. The couple struggle to keep their long distance relationship but they eventually decide to go their separate ways.

Migs then meets a pretty nurse named Joy, portrayed by Marian Rivera. Smitten and confused, Migs fell in love with Joy and immediately offers marriage, leaving Bela and their relationship behind.

Bela, determined to fight for her love, quickly returns to the Philippines with the intention of winning back her former boyfriend. This situation forces Migs to painfully contemplate whether to return to Bela or move on with his new life with Joy.

Who will be the one true love of Migs: his first love Bela (Iza) or his current flame Joy (Marian)?

Iza Calzado in GMA's "Obra" tonight

She is a young actress which has the features of a classic Filipina beauty. Iza Calzado shows that she has the talent and the versatility to stay in this business.

She is now following the footsteps of other GMA artist who was been featured in a month-long anthology of GMA 7’S "Obra" like Katrina Halili, JC de Vera and Sunshine Dizon.

Iza will be doing four different roles in four episodes for this month of November: "Sanib," "Beauty Queen," "Boksingera," and "Stella 45."

In "Sanib," Iza is faced by the secrets of the past. It will be a woman possessed by evil spirits.

"Beauty Queen" is a comedy flick about a girl who keeps on joining beauty contests to win and earn money, but she never wins the top title.

In "Boxing," it has been the dream of her father to bear a son, but instead, here comes Iza. So, to satisfy the dream of her father, Iza becomes a ring fighter.

In "Stella 45," Iza tried the action stuff doing the role of a assassin.

The first episode will be tonight in GMA-7 right after My Husband's Woman.

GMA network paired up Iza Calzado and singer Ogie Alcasid in a special Dear Friend episode entitled "Debbie and DJ Carlo" this Sunday October 26.

The story will show if looks really important in a relationship.

DJ Carlo (Ogie) and Debbie (Iza) are neighbors. He secretly yearns for Debbie but she always gives him a cold treatment. After a bad breakup with her boyfriend, Debbie feels lost and disoriented. To cope with her depression, she listens to the radio where DJ Carlo works.

After endless conversations, they fall in love but DJ Carlo fears Debbie’s rejection since he knows Debbie won’t like him physically. He dreads the day when they will meet face to face so he asks his friend, Jim to pretend as DJ Carlo to win Debbie’s heart.

Iza Calzado's last quarter storm for 2008

It will be a last quarter storm for Filipina actress Iza Calzado. It's raining projects left and right for the talented lovely actress.

She currently filming "One True Love" for GMA Films at Regal Films, "Scaregiver" for APT Entertainment and also doing "Desperadas 2".

Iza will also starred in three Indie films, which schedule to be released later this year. She has a speacial appearance on Piolo Pascual's first-produced indie movie titled "Manila"; She joined veteran actress Anita Linda in "Adela"; and the DGP (Directors Guild of the Philippines) project "Fuschia".

On the small screen, Iza will play a babaylan (a person who is gifted to heal the spirit and the body; a woman who serves the community throug...) in GMA-7's La Lola, October 13.

she will also be doing the Thursday drama anthology on GMA-7's Obra for the month of November after Sunshine Dizon(October).
